Childbirth Education Classes

“My partner and I HIGHLY recommend Megan's course. It was the perfect way to begin my third trimester of pregnancy.”

-Brittany H,

Boston Area In-Person Childbirth Education Classes

If you’re seeking a comprehensive, yet approachable and fun birth class to prepare you and your partner for your transition from pregnancy through birth and into postpartum, please join us for one of our childbirth education class options: Illuminate Your Birth or Birthing with Purpose!

Illuminate Your Birth

Illuminate Your Birth is offered in two different formats…

  1. An in-person three class series that will cover everything you and your partner need to know to feel prepared for your birth as well the initial postpartum time. This class is recommended for first time parents, as it’s more in-depth than the two class option.

  2. A hybrid two class option with one class being live on Zoom and the second being in-person. The best of both worlds—for the first class you’re learning from the comfort of your own home and for the second you get to meet other parents-to-be and practice comfort measures in-person. This is a great option as a “refresher” for parents who have given birth before, as well as for those first time parents who have a busy schedule.

In either class type, you and your partner will learn about your options, practice comfort measures together for labor, strengthen your advocacy skills, and gain confidence in your ability to give birth and begin your parenting journey!

Join us to prepare for the adventure of a lifetime and meet some other parents-to-be, too!

Learn more about why it’s great to take an independent (not taught by your hospital) birth class here.

Topics covered:

  • Signs of labor and how labor may begin

  • The stages of labor and how to tell when it’s time to go to the hospital, birth center, or call your care provider

  • The many types of comfort measures and pain management options available to you, including a chance to practice some methods during class

  • Ways to help labor progress if things stall or slow down

  • How to advocate and ask questions to be an active participant and decision maker in your birth

  • All types of birth will be covered, including vaginal birth (medicated/unmedicated/assisted) and cesarean birth (planned/unplanned)
