Empowered Mama: Postpartum Rehabilitation Workshop

A workshop for new moms who want to learn more about their bodies, and how to begin rehabilitation after childbirth.
Together, we will…
Explore the postural misalignments that occur during pregnancy and how these can persist, causing dysfunction postpartum.
Examine the role the pelvic floor, core, and hips play in back pain.
Learn about symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction and how to prevent them.
Talk about what abdominal separation is, how to check for it, and the do's and don'ts as you begin to heal.
There will also be time for any questions and further exploration of the topics discussed.
We will then take what we've learned and apply it!
We will learn how to connect our breath, pelvic floor, and core, and why this connection is an essential step in recovery. We will practice exercises to strengthen our pelvic floor and core, mobilize our hips, and explore how tight shoulders contribute to back pain.
You will leave this workshop equipped with the knowledge you need to feel safe proceeding with your postpartum recovery.

Hi I’m Emma! I am a mama of two beautiful babes. I know how amazing, awe-inspiring, beautiful, and yet how hard it can all be. When I had my son in 2017, I didn’t know what I was getting into! I struggled with my changing body during pregnancy and felt an urgency to ‘get my body back’ postpartum. After childbirth, I rushed into exercises my body wasn’t ready for and consequently suffered debilitating back pain. Eventually, I learned how to heal my body through education, practice, and patience.
When I had my daughter in 2021, I knew I had to do things differently. This time around, I went into my postpartum rehabilitation with intention, and a dedication to slowly and steadily heal myself. As a result my back felt happy throughout, I felt more mentally stable, and I rebuilt a meaningful connection to my body, leaving me feeling empowered, stronger than ever, and possessing a sense of personal power.
I built this workshop based on my approach to postpartum rehabilitation, which draws from my experience healing my own body, my knowledge as a movement professional of over a decade, and my decade of work helping mamas just like you stay strong and resilient through pregnancy and postpartum. I'm looking forward to meeting you and helping you during this pivotal transition!
